URGENT REMINDER – INNOCADEMY IS A NUT-FREE SCHOOL

Because we have students and staff with life-threatening allergies to peanuts and tree nuts it’s incredibly important that we are vigilant about remaining a completely nut-free campus.

You might be saying, “Well, I know that no one in my child’s class has an allergy so I’m okay sending a bag of trail mix as a snack.” Does your child ever use the community lunchroom? restroom? drinking fountain? Do they ever open a door to exit or enter the building or internal areas? Guessing that would be a “Yes.” for all of our students each day. Should your child have any nut residue or nut butter smear on their hands, they can leave traces on any table, door, or area they touch. For some students and staff, unknowingly touching that area and then touching their mouth, eyes or nose is enough to send them into anaphylactic shock, closing their airway and necessitating immediate life-saving medical attention.

Thank you for helping us keep all of our students and staff at Homestead Campus.

“Sweets Season” – Candy & Pop At School – Please Help!

From Halloween through New Year’s Day seems like endless treats and sweet indulgences. Learning for our Inno kiddos becomes tricky when they are experiencing sugar highs and major crashes throughout the day. It’s been a WILD week, here!

Sending a healthy snack and water bottle each day will help keep hunger at bay while also helping your child avoid these extremes. Please encourage your child to do their best learning by reserving sweet, sugary drinks (pop, Gatorade, energy drinks, etc.) and candy for home.

Substitute Staff Needed

  • Do you enjoy helping children learn?
  • Do you have a flexible schedule?
  • Are you looking for ways to support our school?

If so, we are in need of adults who love to work with kids and have the time to help throughout the school day. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of substitutes right now all over the country.

If you have any interest and would like to discuss this further, please email Ms. Jessenia at jessenia.martinez@innocademy.com.

PBIS Prize Sign-Up – Donations Needed – Message From Ms. Kristin

Hello Parents, I am sure you have all heard about PBIS at Innocademy.  We are asking for your help to restock our prize bins with things that our students will be motivated to work for.  We have created a couple of Sign Up Geniuses, one for Y5-5 and one for 6-8.  If you would like, please sign up to purchase some of these things and either drop them off to school or send them in with your kiddo.  If you choose to donate towards the whole school celebration, we will keep an envelope at the front desk for this money.  Thanks for considering and for your help as we all work together to support all of our students! Items may be dropped off at the front desk for Ms. Kristin.
