REMINDER for WEDNESDAY 10/4:
Wednesday, October 4th is our first State of Michigan Student Count Day for the year. As you do each day, please make certain your children arrive to school on time and stay for the entire day.
REMINDER for FRIDAY 10/6:
Friday, October 6th is our second day of fall conferences and 1/2 Day for our students. As with all 1/2 days, afternoon dismissal will happen at 12pm.
As part of Mr. Chad’s Connections Class, Ms. Rachel’s Friends learned about the diversity of life at Paw Paw Park and created this poem:
Loving learning about diversity of life at Paw Paw Park. A poem by Ms Rachel’s class
In a field like an ocean we spotted flowers that looked like dried apples, feathers like snow, sap like slime and leaves like a kitchen knife. Burrs bit our skin like shark teeth, and seeds poked like porcupine quills. Still others were fluffy like kittens.
Birds sang high and beautifully like Ms Hillary, while crickets made noises like an electric shock, and the whole prairie was playing maracas.
Stepping into the water the mossy rocks were like carpets, the cold water felt like a slushy till our legs got a numbing brain freeze. Frogs and fish made cannonball splashes into the water, and our toes stepped on seeweed-like hairballs.
We felt, we heard, we saw, we played at Paw Paw Park

PBIS Prize Sign Up – Donations Needed – Message From Ms. Kristin
Hello Parents, I am sure you have all heard about PBIS at Innocademy. We are asking for your help to restock our prize bins with things that our students will be motivated to work for. We have created a couple of Sign Up Geniuses, one for Y5-5 and one for 6-8. If you would like, please sign up to purchase some of these things and either drop them off to school or send them in with your kiddo. If you choose to donate towards the whole school celebration, we will keep an envelope at the front desk for this money. Thanks for considering and for your help as we all work together to support all of our students! Items may be dropped off at the front desk for Ms. Kristin.

Exploring Engineering and Stem (8-12yr olds) Workshops
The program is called Exploring Engineering and STEM and is for tweens. Each month we focus on a different career area of STEM. One or more professionals will share what they do for a career with the kids and how they got into it, plus answer questions. Then kids do a hands-on activity related to the career area. The program meets once a month on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 PM, usually at the North Branch Library located at 155 Riley Street in Holland.
