REMINDER: Early Dismissal on Wednesday, May 5th, Thursday, May 6th and Friday, May 7th next week (these are days we traditionally take off for Tulip Time). Students will be dismissed at noon on these days.

There is a sack lunch option that students can order in the morning and it will be ready for them to take with them as they walk out the door each day.

Our Youngest Friends had an amazing time at Van Raalte Farm! They took a beautiful hike and learned about living and non living things. Ms. Lisa was an awesome guide and taught them all about the different plants along the trail. They even got to try some garlic mustard!
Thanks to a grant from Groundswell, we are planning a pollinator garden for the school playground. Mr. Chad’s students have been researching native plants that will grow in dry soil and full sun. Of course all the plants have to help pollinators too! Students were especially drawn to an endangered butterfly in West Michigan. It can only lay its eggs on wild lupine, but due to prairie destruction, the butterflies are now endangered.

NEW INFORMATION

IMPORTANT LUNCH CHANGE FOR MONDAY, MAY 3RD

We had an item unavailable to order so we need to make an entree change for Monday the 3rd. Bosco breadsticks will be served instead of pizza crunchers.

FIELD DAY MAY 24th or 25th or 26th – DROP OFF AT OUTDOOR DISCOVERY CENTER THAT MORNING.

You may bring a lunch that day or order a sack lunch. If you are ordering a lunch, you must order it by Tuesday, May 18th. Students will be returning to school that day by bus. Dismissal will be from Innocademy, as normal.

WE LOVE WARM WEATHER – (PLEASE KEEP IN MIND SCHOOL DRESS CODE =)

From our Innocademy Family Resource Guide…

Dress Code

Please help your student make sure that they are choosing appropriate clothing for school. Dresses and shirts should have a strap of at least two fingers (one inch) wide (no strapless, spaghetti straps, halters or side low-cut sleeveless shirts) and should completely cover the mid-section. SHORTS, dresses and other pants MUST BE AT FINGERTIP LENGTH OR LONGER WITH STUDENT ARMS RESTING AT THEIR SIDES. Pants must be worn at waist level. Students not meeting the dress code will need to change their clothing … either new from home or school-provided. School dress code is in effect for field experiences and may have additional guidelines appropriate for the experience. Hats are allowed. If a student wears hooded clothing, we ask that hoods remain down when indoors to encourage social and academic engagement. * Due to Covid-19 a mask, covering both mouth and nose, needs to be worn in the building.

DAYCARE STAFF NEEDED AT HOMESTEAD CAMPUS

We are looking for someone to join our Daycare Team.  This position would work 2-3 days per week.  Generally speaking, the staff daycare is open on days school is in session as well as staff Professional Development days.  The Daycare team provides care to our staff’s children.  The kids range from 12 weeks old to 5 years old.  Providing a nurturing environment for these little ones while mom/dad is working is the key to this role.  Responsibilities include caring for kids, feeding them, bringing them outside for playtime, etc.

Please email Sara in Human Resources if you are interested in more information on this position – her email is sara.vereeke@innocademy.com
