Robotics Competition at Innocademy THIS Saturday – Volunteers Still Needed!

Our third annual Robotic event will be held at Innocademy Zeeland on Saturday, November 16th from 8 am – 4 pm. It takes a huge team to pull these events off from set-up crew on Friday, registration of teams, judges, referees, and so many others. Many of you have assisted us in the past and will find registration easy and just a couple of steps will get you settled into a spot.

If you are interested please visit https://www.firstinspires.org/resource-library/fll/volunteer-role-descriptions this will give you a quick description of all the roles we need to fill.

Once you have chosen a role please visit https://www.firstinspires.org/sites/default/files/uploads/resource_library/volunteer/volunteer-registration-step-by-step-guide.pdf. This will give you step by step directions for getting everything done that you need to do.

If have any questions please reach out to Ms. Renee at renee.frye@innocademy.com Also, feel free to share this with anyone else you think would like to help us out.

Food Drive this Month

Each of the classrooms will have a collection box for any donations students bring in throughout the next few weeks. While we’d love any donations you are able to provide, we thought we might target a few essentials every week of the drive. Please see, below, for the schedule:

  • Week of Nov. 11th – you choose! Take a peek at the attached list for most needed items!
  • Week of Nov. 18th – household items – again, please refer to the attached list for ideas.

Angel Tree – Do You Know an IES Family in Need?

Do you have or know of an Innocademy Zeeland, Innocademy Allegan, Precademy or iCademy Global Family who has a need this holiday season, that we can help bless you with? We love taking care of our own little community, and helping with needs when they arise, which includes Christmas. If possible, once we meet the needs of our IES families, we would love to open it up to folks you may know in the larger community.

Again, this year we will offer an Angel Tree opportunity, open to all IES families; Precademy, Inno Allegan, Inno Zeeland and iCademy. Needs will be compiled into a Sign-Up Genius and shared with all to select from, and help provide.

Please do not worry, as this will all be anonymous.

Should you have some specific needs this year – – – or know of a family that does, please send an email request BY FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd, to janece.ellers@icademyglobal.org

All requests will be viewed by our Angel Tree Coordinators, Ms. Janece & Ms. Mandy (both from iCademy =). Once all requests have been received, you will hear back regarding your needs with specific details.

We wish for all families to enjoy their holidays, so please let us know how we can brighten yours.

Christmas Parade – Participants Needed

Innocademy and iCademy Global will again be participating in the Zeeland parade on Monday, December 2. The parade marches through downtown Zeeland beginning at 6:30pm. We will have limited space for students to ride on the float, but would love to welcome tons of walkers next to the float! No need to sign up and everyone is welcome! We will send out more details as they become available closer to the date.

Afterschool Enrichment – Ending After Thanksgiving

Our Afterschool Enrichment Program will be discontinued after November 22nd.  Unfortunately, we have struggled staffing this program this year and, as a result, are unable to continue offering this to families.  We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

Looking for Something Fun To Do?

  • Website is grkids.com
  • They send a daily email with weather, events, cheap places to eat, etc. for the following day
  • Facebook page
  • And of course we have their booklet at the front desk

They also do tons of theme related things–summer camps, free things around town, seasonal things, etc.

REALLY IMPORTANT:

PLEASE do not park in the parking spaces next to the building unless you have a handicapped sticker/pass. We have families who are in that situation and need to utilize those spots. Thank you.

Birthday Treats

Just a reminder that there has been a change in Birthday Treat requests for this year. Please take a peek at the information below from our Family Resource Guide:

Innocademy requests a food-free birthday treat to ensure the health and safety of all of our students. If you are planning to send a birthday item with your child (bubbles, pencils, erasers, stickers, etc.), 25 is a safe number to plan for. If a food item comes into the classroom for a birthday celebration, it will be sent back home with the student. This is a significant change for the ‘19-’20 school year and we appreciate your partnership.

Before School Reminders

8:20 -Supervised morning recess and Devos begin (Parent-led Devotions meet during the months of Sept-May)

8:25 – Last opportunity for any students attending Devos to head inside

8:35 – Morning recess students line up outside for the Pledge of Allegiance

8:40 – Student enter the building

8:45 – Class begins  (students arriving after 8:45 will be marked tardy. Please sign them in at the front desk.)

For the safety of our students, please remember that morning recess and optional devotions do not begin until 8:20 each morning. Because there is no outdoor recess coverage by Innocademy staff until that time, it is important that students do not arrive before 8:20 and remain under the supervision of a parent/guardian.  Thanks so much for your cooperation and concern for student safety.
