Book Fair – New Way To Pay!

There is a new payment method available with this book fair called eWallet where parents can put money into an account for students to spend at the book fair. I’ve included a link for a video and a link to the bookfair home page to see more information and sign up. I’ll be sending home a flyer with the book fair flyer later this week that will have information.

China Art Exchange news

Third and fourth graders were given information and parent permission slips if they were interested in participating.  MSU sponsors this program which is designed to introduce Chinese culture to American students.  Many examples of Chinese student work were sent to our school from China.  In return we have an opportunity to send artwork to China to tell about our culture. The artwork will be juried by staff at MSU. Artwork that is selected will be sent to China and artwork that is not selected will be sent back home. All artwork must be turned in to Sharon Brandner in the art area by April 9 and must be accompanied by a signed parent permission slip which was given to the students Monday, March 11 who expressed an interest in participating.

Great donation opportunity

Ottawa Co. DHS info: Program called Pathways to Potential. Part of this program rewards students with behavior and attendance bucks that they use to “shop” at the school store. The store is stocked 100% on donations. Any preloved trinkets, stuffed animals, books, small to medium toys are appreciated. Anything kids would love. The stuffed animals go the quickest, so these donations are really appreciated and put to good use.

Drop off hours are 8-5 at DHS across from Holland Branns. If you tag them for Jodi Cech (program volunteer) they will go to the right location.  If you have any questions you can message Jodi at 616-218-5006.

They also collect donations of winter clothes if you have any to donate.

March is Reading Month – Whole School Project

Oh, The Places You’ll Go! Get the whole family involved. From now until April 1st, use the attached Bingo Board to keep track of your adventures and number of pages your child has read (independently or with someone else!). At the end of the month, we will add up all of the pages (each page = 1 mile) to find out how many miles we “traveled” as a whole school!

Paper copies will also be sent home with kiddos today, but I’m sure it’s always nice to have an electronic copy as well!
