COMING NEXT WEEK! THURSDAY, APRIL 27TH – OUTDOOR DISCOVERY CENTER FAMILY NIGHT

Join us for our yearly springtime family night at the ODC on April 27 from 5-7:30.We are in need of volunteers! You would be signing up for 1-hour increments and we have 9 different stations. If you are signing up for the 7-7:30 slot it is more of a clean-up time slot. We would love to see all of our smiling teachers and families helping out at the ODC. Hoping for WONDERFUL weather! Not a scorching hot day! =)

22-’23 Innocademy Yearbooks are available for purchase from now through May 25th!

Please visit www.yearbookforever.com to order. Each book is student-created, hardcover, and in color! $23 each. Yearbooks will be given out during the last week of school.

SAVE THE DATE – SPRING SHOWCASE – JUNE 7TH

Many more details will follow, soon, but we our Spring Showcase will be held on Wednesday June 7th at 7 pm. Rehearsal will be held during the day from 1-3:30 at Community Reformed Church and students will be dismissed from there as we usually do.

SAVE THE DATE – FIELD DAY MAY 25TH

We are excited to announce that your Innocademy and iCademy PE teachers are joining forces this year and have been working hard to plan a ONE-DAY Field Day Event! This year, our Y5 – 5th-grade students will be participating, and MS/HS students will volunteer to run a station.  

The goal of Field Day this year is to: synergize two of our IES schools, align with our global mindset initiative, to get our students out into their community, and give our oldest students a stewardship opportunity. 

Date: Thursday, May 25, 2023 

Time: 12pm-3:25pm (with pick-up at Helder Park, encourage parents to attend to help with this!) 

Location: Helder Park, Zeeland

FREE LITTLE LIBRARY

We had a local Eagle Scout named Gabby approach us last spring about making and installing a Free Little Library as her final project.  This seemed like a great idea for our property! It is now up and ready to use! Please feel free to stop by, anytime to drop, exchange or borrow a book!

DRESS CODE REMINDER

Spring is here! Yay! Please see the information, below, from our Family Resource Guide regarding choosing appropriate clothing for school.

Dress Code

Please help your student make sure that they are choosing appropriate clothing for school. Shirts should have a strap of at least two fingers wide (no strapless, spaghetti straps, halters or side low-cut sleeveless shirts) and should completely cover the midsection. Shorts and other lower-body garments must be at fingertip length or longer with the student’s arms resting at his/her sides.  Pants must be worn at waist level. Students not meeting the dress code will need to change their clothing, either new from home or school-provided.  The school dress code is in effect for field experiences and may include additional guidelines appropriate for the experience. Hats are allowed.  If a student wears hooded clothing, we ask that hoods remain down when indoors to encourage social and academic engagement.   Any clothing or hats that are derogatory towards any group of people is prohibited.

IMPORTANT REMINDER – EAST (TACO BELL =) PARKING LOT

As I shared earlier this year, our sweet friends at iCademy do need to dismiss their students at 3 pm each Tuesday and Thursday from that parking lot. Please be considerate of this and do not line up to pick up your Innocademy students until all of their little people have been reunited with their parents in that line. If you are parking in that pickup line, one of our staff members will kindly ask you to park your vehicle in the lot and rejoin the line once it has been cleared of iCademy pick-ups. Thank you for your cooperation and kindness.

Did you know that you may apply for lunch benefits at any time of the school year? 

Situations change so don’t be hesitant to apply to this confidential resource. 

Go to familyportal.cloud ,  use the drop-down (select Holland Christian as the district), and apply for Lunch Benefits.  This is very easy, with no need to know your student’s ID number, and extremely confidential.  For questions please contact Sue at 616-820-2934. 

REMINDER: HOMESTEAD CAMPUS IS NUT FREE

We have students on campus who have severe allergies to nuts of any kind. Please use extra caution when packing snacks, bringing treats to school, and enjoying lunches so that we can keep all of our students safe.

HAND 2 HAND – SIGN-UP OPEN FOR THIS YEAR

OK, Hand2Hand is firing up again for the year, and attached is the sign-up form.  A few things to know:

• Hand2Hand is a weekly food bag distribution, provided by Vertical Church (yay to them for this partnership!!). Read the attachment for more info.
  
• There are no qualifications, other than just signing and returning the form.
  
• Bags are distributed on Thursday mornings and we attempt to put in lockers/cubbies during the lunch hour.
  
• In order to receive the first delivery, forms must be returned to the front desk before the Labor Day break. However, families can continue to sign up throughout the year.
