Tutor Training – Help Needed, PLEASE!
We are SO excited to be able to offer another Barton Intervention TutorTraining for anyone interested in helping our students achieve their learning goals!
What’s Barton Intervention? We are working on screening students at Innocademy and iCademy Global for strengths and challenges in the area of Phonemic Awareness…the fundamentals of reading. Simply put, Barton Intervention is a complete program created to help strengthen these foundations.
Thursday, April 13th from 5:30-8:00pm here at Homestead Campus.
Can’t make it, personally, but know someone (college student, favorite babysitter, grandparent, family friend) who would love to spend a couple of hours each week working one on one with one of our students? Send them over! We have LOTS of students on the list just waiting for tutors to be available.
Is YOUR student already receiving tutoring…and you just know that working with them one on one wouldn’t go over so well, but you’d love to help another student? We have parents in that situation and would love to help orchestrate a “swap”; you tutor my kid and I will tutor yours =).
Training is FREE!
Thank you, in advance, for supporting this important program and our students.
Please RSVP to Leisa at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to attend!
OLDER INFO…IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY SEEN IT =)
After School Enrichment Sign Up
Welcome to After School Session 7 we will be looking at Zoos and Aquariums; their animals and conservation programs.
SPECIAL – Friday April 28th DeGraff Nature Center will be joining us! You do not want to miss out! Live animals and great conversation about how we can preserve our wildlife here in Michigan! Snack Included! Sign up ahead for only $12.00!
IMPORTANT: Morning Drop Off
In order to keep drop off moving smoothly, a reminder that students should be ready to exit your car with all of their gear when you stop. A good rule of thumb is if you need to unbuckle yourself to unload your student(s) and organize his/her gear or do anything else other than wave goodbye, please choose a parking spot in the lot or visitor parking area next to the building rather than sitting in the drop off zone.
Parking Lot Safety Reminder – Please KEEP LEFT
Just a reminder that, when entering and exiting the parking lot on the West (McDonald’s side of the building, all cars should follow the posted signs and KEEP LEFT at all times during the day, night and weekends. Thank you for helping keep our traffic flow moving in the right direction an ensuring the safety of our students, staff and families.
Fair Trade Market – Volunteers Needed
The dates for the Fair Trade Market have been set for December 8 and 9th. This market is different than the student marketplace taking place in November. Fair Trade Market is where fair trade vendors descend on Homestead Campus for our students, families and community to do some shopping while our students get to learn about what “Fair Trade” is all about. Planning for the event will begin on April 13th from 3:30-5pm in the cafe on campus and volunteers are needed! Please join us to help make this a fantastic event! Questions? More information? Please contact Rivka Kawano at email@example.com
