News from “Plugged In”…formerly “Devos”
Wow, what a great year morning devotions at pluggedIN have been so far. Thank you for bringing your students before school starts for a chance to learn, pray, and build each other up in Christ. Many stories have been shared about the great things being learned and the fun that is happening. The number of students attending has grown significantly and we are looking for a few hands to help with “crowd control”. If you feel you are able to assist for a morning, or more, to help coral listening ears to our parent-teachers, please sign up through the link below. If you find yourself dropping your students off and have a couple of extra minutes to join our children at pluggedIN, please do and don’t forget to thank our great volunteers! Thanks for considering helping out and thanks for letting us get to know your children, they are a joy!
OKAY2SAY has been a great resource for Michigan. Kids can call in about bullying, human trafficking, etc. and it’s anonymous. Find out more information in the Newsletter, below:
Stewardship Project – Please Help!
We are excited to begin a Stewardship Project that requires your help, and will benefit many members of our own community!
We will be working with Barnabas Ministries to support a group of people in our community that are often overlooked – the Homeless youth of Ottawa County.
Starting today – Monday, January 30th, we will be collecting supplies to create care packages for the homeless youth in our area that are supported by Barnabas Ministries.
Please consider sending in your choice of the items that are needed with your child to give to their ELA teacher:
~Gift cards (for food, usually fast food, small amounts $5)
~Hygiene products-deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, babywipes/face wipes, hand sanitizer, soap, body wash, feminine hygiene(tampons/pads).
~SOCKS, gloves, hats
~Snacks-non perishables & easily opened, crackers, granola bars, poptarts, etc.
This collection will continue through our last day before break – Thursday, February 9th.
Barnabas Ministries is also in the midst of building a community home to shelter the homeless youth in our area, and they are in need of funds to finish that home. Please keep an eye out for fundraisers that will be taking place soon!
We thank you in advance for thinking outside of yourself and helping us reach out to those in need! Please contact Ms. Rachel at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions!

Innocademy School Calendar 2017-2018
Many of you are already making plans for next year! Love the proactivity! We are currently working on the calendar for 2017-2018 and hope to release it, soon. Thank you!
Sign Up For Innocademy Texting!
Before our (what we thought was going to be awesome!) Infinite Campus notification system, we used a service called “Rained Out”. It sent you a notification if school was closed/delayed. I’ve refreshed the account so it’s ready to use again until our IC system is functioning correctly. If you signed up to use it before, you may just want to sign up, again, using the easy directions, below, just to make sure.
Here is how to sign up:
On your smartphone, prepare to send a text message
1) In the “To” section, type 84483
2) In the “message” section, type Innocademy (with capital “i”)
3) Hit “send”
You will receive confirmation that you are now part of the Innocademy text messaging system. If you do not receive a confirmation back, check with your carrier to see if they support “short code” messaging. You can email me with any issues and we can trouble shoot =).
Pizza/Sub Sale Fundraiser
Finally, information has been shared with students eligible to travel this year regarding a pizza/sub sale fundraiser if they are interested in adding to their field trip accounts. If you have younger students – or your student is not traveling this year, but you wish to participate, anyway, PLEASE DO! You can simply use the information and attached order forms. Please contact Tyler.huizenga@icademyglobal, firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com for any questions you may have.
All fundraiser orders and payment are due to your student’s classroom teacher or Mr. Derek (for iCad middle/high school students) on Friday, February 3, along with a single check made out to Innocademy. Pick-up will be Tuesday, February 21 from 3:30-5:00.
REMINDER: Inclement Weather Notifications – How We Let You Know Campus Is Closed:
As a general rule, Precademy, Innocademy and iCademy Global will follow decisions made by officials at Zeeland Public Schools. Decisions are usually made no later than 6:30am and notifications sent immediately. In the event that weather makes it necessary for us to delay or cancel school and campus events for the day, notifications will be sent by email, posted on Facebook, WOOD TV8 and WZZM Channel 13. If you are in question, please check these outlets prior to sending students to campus.
